A 4.5mm Broad LC-DCP is an orthopedic fixation plate designed to provide stable fracture fixation. Its limited contact design helps reduce the area of direct contact between the plate and bone.
It is used to support fracture stabilization and maintain alignment during bone healing. The broad plate design provides a larger surface area for fixation compared with narrower plate configurations.
LC-DCP stands for Limited Contact Dynamic Compression Plate. The design combines compression capabilities with a geometry intended to reduce contact between the plate and the underlying bone.
Depending on the surgical technique and fracture pattern, an LC-DCP can be used for compression, neutralization, or bridging fixation. The appropriate technique is determined by the orthopedic surgeon.
The reduced bone contact area is intended to help preserve the bone surface beneath the plate while maintaining mechanical support. Clinical suitability depends on the fracture, bone quality, and surgical approach.
